Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Job Description:
The incumbent will provide project management assistance to contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Title V Grant projects by helping to monitor action plans, timelines, and completion of major tasks of the grant; assist with developing and implementing administrative policies/procedures to ensure compliance with the federal Title V Grant and state/local projects, as well as county rules and regulations; and prepare and proofread documents and correspondence related to the Title V Grant projects, ensuring accuracy and correctness. The incumbent will also assist in the preparation and review of financial and performance reports, annual budget, and other documents, as required. They will maintain records of the Title V Grant projects operational expenses and revenue to provide data to forecast spending patterns; complete tasks related to budget, payroll, procurement, and travel; and serve as the liaison for the Title V Grant projects across campus, scheduling committee meetings, preparing meeting materials, and arranging the use of facilities.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree and three years of relevant experience where the primary function of the position was *staff services (*or functions that generally support or back up functions to higher-level administrators.) required. A high attention to detail, excellent written and oral communications skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized, are required. The successful candidate must be proactive with exceptional judgement and possess a collegial and team-oriented temperament. Proficiency in software systems including Microsoft Office applications are required. The ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and the ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing needs and priorities are also required. The candidate must possess a strong student-centered orientation. The ability to work with a team of diverse faculty, staff and students is essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with grant-funded programs in a postsecondary setting is preferred.
Additional Information:
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $34.60/hour. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
